Every day in Colorado, families are changed forever by premature birth. Many leave the hospital with hope in their hearts — but also medical bills, stress, and the fear of navigating the NICU and life at home without enough support.

Newborn Hope exists so no Colorado family walks that journey alone.

For over 50 years, we’ve provided direct financial relief, essential education, and long-term support to families with premature babies across our state. When you give, you make immediate, tangible impact through:

  • Preemie Family Assistance Fund — emergency financial relief that helps families cover essentials like rent, transportation, medical bills, and supplies
  • Community Grants — funding that expands awareness, education, and innovation in maternal, fetal, and neonatal care
  •  Post-NICU Support — resources that strengthen long-term stability after a family leaves the hospital and begins their new life at home

Your gift gives hope today — and creates brighter beginnings for Colorado’s tiniest fighters.

Mission

Our mission is to ensure that every family in Colorado impacted by premature birth has access to the financial, emotional, and educational support they need — from the NICU to home and into the future.

Newborn Hope provides life-changing assistance through direct family support, community education, and strategic grants that advance neonatal care statewide. We work alongside families, medical professionals, and partners to build a world where every preemie has the strongest possible start.

Because when we support parents, we strengthen babies.

And when we strengthen babies — we strengthen Colorado’s future.

Background Statement

Newborn Hope began with one heartbreaking loss — and one woman’s determination to transform it into a legacy of impact.

In 1973, Zoya Dickins Miller’s close friend delivered a premature baby girl who did not survive. Zoya knew that with stronger neonatal resources, that tiny life might have had a different outcome. She launched the first “November Noel” luncheons to raise money for RDS research, igniting a movement of compassion across Colorado.

Fourteen years later, Newborn Hope became an official nonprofit — expanding its mission to prevent premature birth, improve neonatal outcomes, and support families navigating the hardest moments of their lives.

Today, Zoya’s legacy lives on in every grant we award, every family we assist, and every baby who gets a stronger start because someone chose to give hope.

From prenatal education to NICU resources to long-term support after discharge, we are building a Colorado where every preemie’s journey home is possible — and every family feels seen, supported, and strengthened.

You can be part of that legacy today.
