Maria Droste Counseling Center (MDCC) exists to make high-quality counseling accessible to everyone in Metro Denver—no matter their ability to pay. Each year, we provide more than 12,000 sessions to people who might otherwise go without care: underinsured individuals, children and teens, survivors of domestic violence, crime victims, and families navigating trauma or crisis. As a nonprofit, we sustain this work by combining donor and grant support with a model that trains the next generation of therapists while serving today’s clients. Every gift fuels this cycle of care—expanding access, reducing stigma, and ensuring that compassionate, effective counseling is available to all, regardless of wealth.

Maria Droste Counseling Center is a community-based 501(c)(3) organization serving the seven county Denver area. We believe in mental health regardless of wealth.
Our organization was founded in 1989 to bridge the gaps in available counseling services for underserved, economically-disadvantaged populations in Denver. Over the years, our focus evolved into clinical training to help future generations have access to quality mental health professionals. Today we continue to serve the most vulnerable members of our community, helping them achieve self-sufficiency, strengthen family relationships, and improve quality of life.
Our vision is to be the leader in high-quality, sustainable, and innovative mental health programs and services for underserved populations. Maria Droste intends to cultivate a strong culture for all members: therapists, staff, clients, and volunteers.
