Whom do you serve?
We serve children ages 1 to 101. Tours and field are open to everyone. Our horseback riding program and our 4-H club are for kids ages 5 to 18. Summer camps starts at age 4. We also visit children in certain after school programs and we serve our community at local neighborhood events.
What do you do?
We are a farm in the city. You can visit the farm and see all of our wonderful farm friends: horses, cattle, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, miniature horses and donkey, pot belly pig, and a mule. You can also play in our children's garden in playhouses, on a tractor, and swing on tire swings. We offer field trips and service learning for schools. We have a 4-H program in which kids work with our farm animals year round. We also have horseback riding classes year round, as well as Summer Camps.
What difference do you make?
We help young people who may have difficulty finding a home for their interests and passions. The Urban Farm provides a setting to feel safe and accepted and have a sense of belonging. We help to instill the values of respect for people, animals, plants, and the environment. We allow young people to find and develop their strengths by exploring animals and science. We help to prepare young people to pursue higher education and employment in animal science, agriculture or the sustainable field.
How do donations help?
Your donation will help our organization in many ways. We will be able to provide better care for all of our animals, this includes feeding, housing and medical care. We will also be able to maintain our property to make sure that our fences are protecting the animals and that our office building is a comfortable place for people to work. Your donation will help us to keep our quality programs such as horseback riding, gardening with aquaponics, our and summer camps.
