The Center for African American Health (CAA Health) was established to support the health and wellness of African Americans precisely because of the persistent health disparities that have plagued us for generations. At CAA Health, not only do our Black Lives Matter, but supporting the quality of life of Black lives is our mission. We also know that racism is our public health crisis. The inequities across the various social determinants of health - health, mental health, education, income, life expectancy - all have the same root cause - systemic racism.
The COVID-19 pandemic is yet another crisis exacerbating the existing disparities experienced by the Black/African American community. As a Family Resource Center, we are committed to maximizing our resources to ensure that our community's needs are both identified and being met.
Many families in our community are struggling right now and need emergency assistance funds. Please support them through this difficult time by contributing to our COVID-19 Relief Fund. These funds will be distributed to members our community to assist them in paying their housing, utility, and grocery expenses. Your support during this time is greatly appreciated.
