The San Luis Valley has some of the highest poverty in the state. We are the only nonprofit providing a network of services to address the neediest among us, including children, families, homeless. We provide shelter, housing, food, meals, prevention (rent, electrical, heating etc.) assistance.

  • La Puente Home was able to continue serving community meals throughout the pandemic.
  • Street Outreach provided food, water & other necessities to those most vulnerable in our community.
  • La Puente saw a rise in people utilizing the Food Bank Network during COVID so we prepared food boxes and delivered food to those who couldn't leave their house.
  • Adelante provides housing & support to 24 famiilies
  • V.E.G.I. teaches growing lessons to PALS while practicing COVID safety procedures.
  • The PALS are exposed to experiences & adventures their families are unable to provide ensuring their dreams have no limits.
  • The Outreach Christmas Party ensures over 500 men, women & children get a holiday meal & wrapped gift from Santa ensuring every family in our community can enjoy a Merry Christmas.
  • The Outreach Backpack Drive gives out over 700 backpacks & supplies to students in need.
  • Re-Threads is a free community resource to ensure everyone can access clothes, home-goods, toiletries and other basic necessities.
  • La Puente's PALS childrens program provides a positive structure, offers an exploratory learning environment, develops emotional resiliency, & builds trusting relationships with children who come from difficult or traumatic backgrounds.
  • La Puente Shelter provides a place to stay, food to eat, support and new hope for those experiencing homelessness.
  • Through the Foodbank of the SLV's gleaning program 5,421 lbs. of food is rescued and put back into the community.
  • The Food Bank Network of the San Luis Valley serves over 13,000 unique individuals annually.
