Kevin Kuharic lives in Georgetown, Colorado, works for The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in the State of Colorado, serves as a Site Director of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and a consultant for The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America. He began his preservation career in 1989 at Historic Oakland Cemetery (Atlanta, GA). His professional accomplishments have been acknowledged by four Atlanta mayors. His contributions to the field of cemetery preservation were honored by the Atlanta Urban Design Commission when they named him recipient of the Jenny D. Thurston Award for an Outstanding Preservation Professional (2002); his sensitive, thorough, and systematic repair of Oakland cemetery after a devastating tornado was recognized with an Award of Excellence for an Individual (2010). Currently, he serves as executive director of Hotel de Paris Museum, a site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The property is located in the Georgetown-Silver Plume National Historic Landmark District.
