Sue Covington, Clinic Director
Start Date: 2008

Sue received her medical education at the University of Colorado Health Science Center and has practiced as a Pediatric Physician Assistant for 20 years. After practicing Primary Care for 2 years in Los Angeles Califorinia, she moved back to Colorado to work with the first Pediatric Hospitalist group in Colorado, which provided inpatient, neonatal and intensive care at five Denver Metro Hospitals. For the past 12 years she has returned to practicing Primary Care supporting the Medical Home model. She has been on the Clinical Faculty for The Children's Hospital and works with Physician Assistant and Family Practice Residency programs to teach students and interns. She is proficient in medical Spanish. She now directs and oversees the clinic operations at Doctors Care as well as continuing to provide medical care to clinic patients.

Barb Hanson, Development Director
Start Date: 2011

After 25 years in corporate advertising and marketing management, followed by capital campaign experience at the Aspen Music Festival and School, Barb initially came to Doctors Care as a communications consultant. She has been with Doctors Care for three years and now leads the marketing and development initiatives for the organization.

Alexandra Kellogg, Health Access Program Senior Manager
Start Date: 2015

Alexandra completed her Master of Public Health from the Colorado School of Public Health in the summer of 2016. Her first experience working in public health came in 2008 volunteering in Tanzania providing HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness classes. She has over five years of program management experience and has been trained as a patient navigator and a tobacco cessation coach. Alexandra is committed to working with persons facing excess burdens to health based on their social and economic conditions. She is a member of the Colorado Health Literacy Coalition, where they work to ensure patients have the information and knowledge to make informed health decisions. She brings to Doctors Care a passion for evidence based, efficacious, and efficient program design and implementation.

Shera Matthews, Director of Practice Management
Start Date: 2011

Shera has more than 15 years experience as a practice administrator in the healthcare industry and she possesses 10 additional years outside of healthcare in operations management. Shera directs the administrative operations for the medical clinic at Doctors Care and works closely with the providers and staff to maximize processes that ultimately end in a positive patient experience. Shera is considered a Medicaid and managed care expert and is involved in the community as a liaison for Doctors Care and other safety-net clinics. She received her Bachelor's degree in Education with a Minor in Psychology and additional post graduate education in Business Administration from the University of Northern Colorado.

Ann Harden, Human Resources and Benefits Director
Start Date: 2010

Ann has more than 28 years of professional human resources management experience. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado and a Master's of Public Administration from the University of Denver. She previously served as Director of Human Resources for Arapahoe County. Ann manages and promotes organizational standards in staff training and development, employee safety, and personnel policies and procedures.

Alisa Spilman, COO
Start Date: 2006

Alisa has spent ten years working with database management, as well as volunteer and community relations in local nonprofits. She is responsible for the coordination and implementation of new software programs and maintaining current systems, including the electronic medical record software eClinicalWorks. Additionally, she has a Bachelors in Science in Nursing from Regis University, and has volunteered with The Village Preschool, Littleton Immigration Initiative (LI3) and Bridgeway House.

Bebe Kleinman, CEO
Start Date: 1999

Bebe has more than 25 years of professional experience in the nonprofit community. She has spent the last ten years as the executive director for Doctors Care. Selected as a Colorado Trust Fellow in 1996, she returned to school to receive a Master's in Nonprofit Management from Regis University. During that time, she worked for The Women's Foundation of Colorado as Program Director. Other past positions include Director of Development for The Gathering Place, Executive Director for Douglas County Senior Services, and Director of Social Services for Sheridan County Memorial Hospital in Wyoming. Her commitment to involving the community in helping the medically underserved has recently lead her to a more active role with the South Metro Health Alliance and ClinicNet, as well as other agencies in the Doctors Care service area.
