Dr. Katherine Schwartz, RJE, Director of Lifelong Learning
Start Date: 1997

Katherine Schwartz is the Director of Lifelong Learning at Congregation Har HaShem in Boulder, Colorado, a clinical faculty mentor in HUC-JIR's Executive MA in Jewish Education program, and the President of the Association of Reform Jewish Educators. Katherine is the author of books and articles and holds an MAJE from HUC-JIR's Rhea Hirsh School of Education, an MAJCS from HUC-JIR's Zelikow School of Nonprofit management and an Ed.D from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America.

Andrew Frank-Martin, Facility Supervisor
Start Date: 2015

Andrew and his staff take care of the Synagogue, classrooms and grounds. He is responsible for coordinating with Clergy and staff with events and programming, setup and take down of events, programming and classes. Ordering supplies, identifying facility needs, repairs, scheduling and interfacing with vendors.

Ethan Stone, CLASP Fellow (Youth Director)
Start Date: 2019

As recent graduate of Brandeis University, Ethan Stone was hired to Har HaShem as the youth director. Planning and executing informal youth group programming, Ethan has increased youth engagement at the congregation and works to foster a "culture of camp" in the congregation in partnership with OSRUI, Har HaShem's regional URJ camp.

Aryn Miller, Learning Specialist/Access Coordinator
Start Date: 1992

Aryn Miller began as a Religious School teacher, transitioned to a consultant serving families with students with special needs and has now expanded that role and added services to support current Religious School teachers. She has worked in the field of Special Education for thirty three years.

Alan Halpern, Executive Director
Start Date: 2017

Har HaShem is the third synagogue Alan Halpern has served as Executive Director through nearly 20 years of Jewish communal work. He has reworked nearly every system of a synagogue through his career: finance, information technology, communications, governance, planning and engagement. Previously he has worked in higher education administration, corporate consulting and management.

Fred Greene, Rabbi
Start Date: 2015

Rabbi Fred Greene joined the congregation in 2015 after previously serving communities in Metro Atlanta and Bridgeport, Connecticut. He is a graduate of Hofstra University and was ordained in 2001 from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion.

Ruth Eileen Gelfarb, Rabbi
Start Date: 2012

Rabbi Gelfarb teaches classes ranging from character development to Jewish History to Jewish philosophy to meditation. Rabbi Gelfarb provides pastoral care to congregants and those considering conversion. Rabbi Gelfarb leads Jewish services.

Holli Berman, Cantorial Soloist
Start Date: 1997

Holli Berman is part of the clergy team at Har HaShem. She officiate services and lifecycle events, leading prayer and song. Holli provides pastoral care, teach classes, work with young students, and front a band. She grew up in California and attended Barnard College in NYC.

Lisa Webber, Director of Communications and Membership Engagement
Start Date: 2014

At Har HaShem, Lisa Webber recruits and orients new members; provides opportunities for members to connect and engage in programming; and handles external communications. She has over 20 years experience as a Jewish communal professional, working at synagogues, JCCs and day schools.

Shoshana Fanizza, Development Associate
Start Date: 2018

Shoshana Fanizza has been working with and for nonprofits for almost 25 years, and she went through a Nonprofit Management Certificate program in 2003. She has a background in arts administration, fund raising, marketing, sales, and customer service. Her other part time job is running her own business, Audience Development Specialists, and in her free time she loves to play and listen to music, crochet and knit, hike, and work on her family tree.

Lisa Milowsky, Clergy Administrative Assistant
Start Date: 2017

Lisa Milowsky has a love for working in non profit organizations. She was the administrative assistant to the Rabbi and Cantor of her synagogue back east for 9 years. Lisa is now the clergy administrative assistant at Har HaShem, for almost 3 years. She loves helping people, working out, hiking and skiing.

Lucy Zugschwert, Executive Assistant
Start Date: 2019

Lucy has worked with Brokers Choice of America as their Public Relations and Education Director and USA Rugby as the Membership Services and Database Manager. Her background is in Public Relations and Advertising.
