gerald hamel, Administration Support

Mr. Hamel has been invested in community resource development in Northeast Denver for 12 years. He has served as Executive Director of Love UpRising since 2008. Love UpRising recently piloted a non-profit grocer in Skyland that closed in May 2017. Mr Hamel has worked in NE Park Hill to promote positive youth development with the Prodigal Son Initiative from 2012 to 2016.
Mr. Hamel is a founding board member of Make a Chess Move (MACM). Mr. Hamel resigned from the board and became a staff member in September 2019.
Mr. Hamel worked over 15 years as a Chief Financial Officer, Controller, and Manager. He worked for NFL Trading Card manufacturer, Salon Exclusive Hair Products distributor, Restaurant Supplies and Equipment Retailer and Distributor, global luxury hotel company, and a greenhouse.
Mr. Hamel is a member of the Denver Workforce Board's Youth Committee.
Mr. Hamel has been a member of Wise Council for the NE Denver LiveWell Share Network since 2011, and a Council Member of East5ide Unified Undo since February 2019.
Mr. Hamel has been a board member and Treasurer of the North City Park Civic Association, and President of the Civic Association of Clayton neighborhood. Mr. Hamel was a founding Board Member of Greenleaf and has been the garden manager for the DUG Barrett Elementary Community Garden.
Mr. Hamel has a Masters of Accountancy and Bachelors of Accountancy from the University of Mississippi.
