She has experience working with a local investment startup as Director of Operations, the YMCA-youth program and with the restaurant business. She excels in client relationships and project management.
sharon Hammond, President of Summer's Way

Dr. Hammond is the President and founder of the Summer's Way Foundation. She is a Board Certified Vascular Surgeon in the Denver area and founder of Specialized Vein Care. She is a 1982 graduate of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md. Dr, Hammond completed her General Surgery Residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 1987 and subsequently served a tour in Seoul, Korea. She returned to Walter Reed to complete a fellowship in Vascular Surgery. She was stationed at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center for the next 8 years till the base closure. During that time she also assumed training responsibilities for the Transitional internship program. Dr. Hammond joined Denver Vascular Surgical Associates in 1996 and subsequently Colorado Cardiovascular Surgical Associates. In 2010, Dr. Hammond started Specialized Vein Care where she continues to practice full time.
During the course of her medical career, Dr. Hammond has held a multitude of leadership positions to include Governor from Colorado to the American College of Surgeons, President of the Colorado Chapter to the American College of Surgeons, and President of the Medical staff at Rose Medical Center.
Dr. Hammond along with her husband Sterling Hammond,started the Summer's way Foundation in 2017 in memory of their daughter Summer Hammond who died in 2015 from an aggressive childhood cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma. It is her fervent hope that this cancer will one day prove survivable and that no other parent will ever have to hear the words "your child has cancer".
