Joanie P Leonard, Executive Director

Joanie is a founding member of the Durango Independent
Film Festival since its inception in 2005. She became hooked on film festivals and independent filmmaking after attending the Sundance festival in 1994.
After serving as the head of features programming and Festival Coordinator,
she became the Executive Director in 2008. She is working on a screenplay
for a short film and has been working on her own music documentary
production, which took a back seat when she became Executive Director, but hopes to complete it someday. She has served as a juror for the Santa Fe Film Festival and the Knoxville 24-hour Film Fest. She is busy working with the Durango Film staff to present its 14th annual festival February 27 -
March 3, 2019.
Cindy Coleman, Marketing & Advertising Representative & Lounge Coord.

Cindy Coleman: Graphic Artist. Cindy answered a request for proposal for
the 2009 festival catalog layout artist and won the contract. She has been
with Durango Film ever since. She added the title of marketing and
advertising representative in 2015, tasked with driving the creative branding
for the film festival. A graduate of Ringling College of Art & Design in
Sarasota, FL with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration, Cindy worked for 7
years at CNN. Most recently she's been free-lancing her graphic design and
illustration work through her business, Duck Girl Art, LLC. She has exhibited
at various local galleries, including numerous times at the Durango Arts
Gyana Bandy Gomar, Administrative Assistant; Seasonal, Part-time
Start Date: 2016
Gyana is fluent in Spanish and English and has experience with interpretation and written translation. She was a child actor in Mexico and continues to act in both film and stage productions. She currently works full-time for the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization and works part-time in the DIFF office in the months leading up to the festival, generally December - February.
Gyana is also part of the DIFF volunteer staff and functions as our Juror Coordinator.
