Nancy Reinisch, Founder
Start Date: 1987

Nancy helped to start Advocate Safehouse Project in 1987 and has been involved with ASP since then.

Julie Olson, MSW, CEO/Executive Director
Start Date: 1995

For the past 23+ years Julie has been the Executive Director of the Advocate Safehouse Project in Glenwood Springs. Prior to 1995 she worked in Alaska for seven years at various human service organizations with three years at a dual domestic violence/sexual assault program in Homer, Alaska. She received her Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Denver in 1988.

On June 11, 2012, Julie Olson was honored with the Colorado Coalition Against Domestic Violence Purple Ribbon Award's 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award at the Colorado Advocacy in Action Conference in Vail, Colorado. She was nominated by her peers for her 20 plus years of work in the field of domestic violence, 17 of which have been with ASP. Julie was recognized for her successful work within the community as a result of her creativity, innovation and dedication; the leadership and mentoring that she has provided for the coalition and other programs throughout the state; and for improving the safety of domestic violence victims and their children in Garfield County.
