We provide opportunities though early childhood education, an alternative high school, job training, recreation and leadership development programs.

Stephen LeFaiver, Executive Director
Start Date: 2005

Stephen (MS, Organizational Leadership, Colorado State University; Mental Health First Aid Certified) completed a Non- Profit Leadership Program through the Community Resource Center in 2005 and is former Director of the AmeriCorps Watershed Project and Founding Board Member of the Connolly Ranch Environmental Center and NedSk8. With TEENS, Inc. since August 2003, Stephen has been Executive Director since 2005.

Alisa Musser, Assistant Director

Alisa (BA, Psychology, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; teaching license, Regis University; Mental Health First Aid Certified) is the previous Executive Director and has been with TEENS, Inc. since 1999.

Susan Davis Churches, Development Director
Start Date: 2014

Sue (BFA, Fine Arts/Graphic Design, Colorado State University) has volunteered in numerous capacities with TEENS, Inc. since 2002. She worked on the grant writing team from 2008-2013 and became full time Development Director in February 2014.

Bill Pollock, Evaluation Specialist
Start Date: 2006

Bill (BS, Education, Pennsylvania State University; MA, Reading, Grand Valley State University; Mental Health First Aid Certified) is working on his PhD dissertation in applied statistics and research methods, has fifteen years teaching experience with at-risk populations, and has been with TEENS, Inc. since August 2006 as academic director until 2017 when he became TEENS, Inc. first evaluation coordinator.

Ariel Gustuvson, Teen Center Director

Ariel (MA, Contemporary Hispanic Studies, Oregon State University; Wilderness First Responder Certified) has eight years' experience working with youth through a variety of outdoor education and intercultural based programming. Ariel has been with TEENS, Inc. since April 2016.

Althea (BA, Interdisciplinary Arts and Letters, Prescott College; Mental Health First Aid Certified) is pursuing her MA in Contemplative Education at Naropa University and has been with TEENS, Inc. since April 2015.

State of Colorado Early Childhood Education Director Qualified with over 29 years experience as a director of preschools in Nederland, Colorado.

Ann Sherman, Parenting Matters Coordinator
Start Date: 2015

Ann (BS, Social Work, Purdue University; MA, Sociology, University of Colorado) brought the Parent Engagement Network model to Nederland from 2010-2015. As part of the TEENS, Inc. Community Initiative Prevention model, Ann began partnering with Nederland Elementary school in October 2015 to teach social/emotional learning skills to K-5 students and reach out to parents with parenting education options.

Mark Walker, Teacher

Mark grew up in Richmond, Virginia and attended the University of Virginia for undergraduate and law school. After practicing law in Washington, D.C. for several years, Mark finally came to his senses and decided to change careers and become a math teacher. He received a B.S. in Mathematics and a Masters in Education from the University of Oregon before finally settling in Colorado. In his spare time Mark enjoys whitewater kayaking, skiing and hiking.

Aubrey , (B.S. Natural Resource Management Oregon State University) was hired as one of our crew leaders for the TeamWorks Employment Program. She assists in Chinook West OL programming as well as after school and out-of-school programs available to area youth through TEENS, Inc.

Collin Olson, Program Manager

Collin, (B.A. Geography, Denver University) was hired as one of our crew leaders for the TeamWorks Employment Program. He assists in Chinook West Outdoor Leadership trips as well as after school and out-of-school programs available to area youth through TEENS, Inc. His experience includes leading youth in the outdoors in various parts of the US and abroad.

Julie (MA, Special Education, University of Kansas; Colorado Principal License) has been a secondary school assistant principal serving youth in a mental health facility since 2008. Julie specializes in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support and Response to Intervention strategies to engage at-risk youth in their education. She joined TEENS, Inc. in November 2016.
