Donald E. Messer, CEO/Executive Director
Start Date: 2000

Donald E. Messer served 29 years as a university and seminary president (Dakota Wesleyan University and the Iliff School of Theology). A United Methodist clergy, he holds a Ph.D. in social ethics from Boston University. Author of 15 books focused on the church's mission and ministry, he also has written countless articles. Four books focus on HIV and AIDS. His book, "BREAKING THE CONSPIRACY OF SILENCE: CHRISTIAN CHURCHES AND THE GLOBAL AIDS CRISIS," has been translated and republished in both India and Burma. His book, "ENDING HUNGER NOW," was co-written with former US Senators George McGovern and Bob Dole. He co-chairs the United Methodist Global AIDS Fund Committee.
