Jared Mazurek, School Programs Director
Start Date: 2018

Jared has been working with Cal-Wood since November, 2018. Jared holds a Master's in Teaching & Elementary Education Degree from Colorado College as well as Undergraduate Degrees in Environmental Science, Geography, and Spanish from the University of Denver. For the past 5 years, Jared worked as the Director of Education at The Catamount Center for Environmental Science & Education in Woodland Park, CO. As the Director of School Programs, Jared oversees our school programs and program staff to ensure that all who come to Cal-Wood have an unforgettable and unique experience. He is excited about continuing to grow Cal-Wood's school programs and is passionate sharing the wonders of the natural world with people of all ages and backgrounds.

Rafael Salgado, CEO/Executive Director
Start Date: 1998

As a range scientist and wildlife biologist in Mexico and a professor at Antonio Narro University, Rafael has participated in wildlife research projects on white tail deer, black bears, small mammals, and a variety of birds. Working for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, he trained volunteer instructors for Project Wild, an internationally recognized environmental education program, and for the Hunter and Angle Education programs. He developed a large environmental education program in Mexico, training more than 6,000 teachers and developing many teaching materials. Rafael is a faculty member of the Bilingual ESL Network in Colorado and a member of the advisory committee of the American Forest Foundation.
