Carlos Fernandez, CEO/Executive Director
Start Date: 2015

Carlos Fernandez started his position as state director for The Nature Conservancy in Colorado in January 2015. He comes to Colorado from the Conservancy's Argentina program, which he founded six years ago. There, he worked with in-country staff, partners and Conservancy colleagues to protect more than 3.2 million acres of grasslands and implemented river and stream conservation efforts. Before that role, he worked on conservation and development issues as the Southern Andes Conservation Strategies Manager. Prior to joining the Conservancy 12 years ago, Fernandez was an attorney in private practice in Argentina and Washington DC.
