ACE Scholarships

ACE Scholarships was founded in 2000 to provide low-income families with access to K-12 private schools through partial tuition scholarships. ACE believes that every child should have access to a quality education; therefore, scholarships are allocated purely on need, rather than merit.

Gina DiMatteo, Chief Financial Officer
Start Date: 2017

Gina joined ACE in 2017 after a successful career as the CFO representing the North and South America regions of a multi-national Solar manufacturer, distributor and developer. Gina's other experience includes finance and accounting within the restaurant, medical, and construction materials industries. She earned her MBA from Regis University in Denver and holds an active CPA license.

Norton Rainey, CEO/Executive Director
Start Date: 2002

Norton Rainey is the Executive Director of ACE Scholarships, a foundation in Colorado that provides tuition scholarships to children of low-income families. Now in its 16th year, ACE has provided more than 17,000 scholarships and funding commitments exceeding $37 million.

Norton attended the University of Colorado on a golf scholarship and received his degree in business marketing. He is actively involved in the Denver community and is the founder of Men of Faith, a quarterly breakfast series targeted to men in the Denver area. He is also the founder of Rough Riders, a quarterly breakfast series that features local and national political leaders.

Norton is the coach for his boys' competitive baseball team, plays golf at Colorado Golf Club and enjoys fly fishing. One of his dreams is to cliff dive with some buddies in Switzerland when he turns 50.

Norton and his wife, Kara, have been married for 15 years and have two sons and one daughter.

Jonathan Tee, Director of Operations

Jonathan Tee has more than a decade of experience in the areas of education, political campaign management, fund raising, communications strategy and media relations, and has worked in the private, public, political and non-profit sectors.

As Director of Operations Jonathan oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization, manages the staff, short- and long-term planning, and all marketing and communications.

Previously, Jonathan was Communications Director for the Colorado Secretary of State, serving as spokesperson for the Colorado Department of State. In this role he developed communications strategies and provided policy advice on a wide-range of issues, including elections, campaign finance, and Colorado's business and non-profit sectors.

Prior to working in state government, Jonathan worked as a political campaign operative in California and Colorado. In this capacity, Jonathan oversaw all aspects of political campaigns and managed a wide range of races.

Jonathan is a graduated of the Hillsdale College, where he earned a B.A. degree in History and State Certification as a secondary teacher. He taught at the middle and high school levels in Michigan and Colorado.

Jonathan is a founding board member of the Girls Athletic Leadership School, a high-performing, all-girls charter school in Denver Public School district.
