The Urban Farm

We address the needs of young people who may have difficulty finding a "home" for their interests. We recognize that every child is potentially at risk whether from environmental, social or family conditions. We provide a safe setting with respect for people, animals, plants, and the environment.

Rachel Livingston, Farm Programs
Start Date: 2018

Rachel has two associate degrees, one in biology and one in geology from Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield Illinois.

Emmalee Gale, Equine Programs
Start Date: 2018

I chose to work at The Urban Farm because I first learned to ride horses here in 2004. Later I worked for a Dressage trainer for a few years as an assistant. I learned a lot from her and got a lot of experience teaching students and training and riding many different horses. Eventually I started teaching lessons and training on my own. Other than horses, I have always worked in the restaurant industry and I spent a lot of time learning about food and cooking.
