Steve Shineman, Senior Vice President

Steve Shineman joined the Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation in January 2018. He is the Senior Vice President and holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation. Steve works with donors, advisors, and colleagues on exploring current and deferred giving options.
Prior to joining Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation, he served as the Executive Director of Gift Planning for The University of Denver for three years. Steve was also Director of Gift Planning for Texas Christian University and a financial advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors. He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration and communications from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida, and earned his master's in business administration from Texas Christian University.
Katie Dugan, Vice President, Finance & Accounting

Katie Dugan has nearly two decades of experience in auditing and overseeing the accounting operations of not-for-profit organizations. She began her career at Ernst & Young and has subsequently worked for Kundinger, Corder & Engle, the Dumb Friends League and the University of Colorado Foundation, where she performed the accounting for the Foundation's $1.6 billion investment portfolio and its 2,800 endowment funds. She recently joined Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation as its Vice President of Finance and Accounting. Katie earned her undergraduate degree from Baylor University and her Masters of Science in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame. She has been a licensed CPA for 18 years.
Bridget Richards, Chief Operating Officer

Bridget Richards is Chief Operating Officer the Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation. In this role, she leads the Foundation's communications, finance, donor relations, and development services functions and is a member of the senior leadership team. Richards brings more than 25 years' experience in executive leadership, strategy development, and marketing communications. Prior to joining the Foundation, her career was focused in the investment management industry, where she was a communications and marketing executive. Most recently, Richards served as the director of marketing and communications for Blue Ocean Enterprises, Inc. in Fort Collins, Colo. She has consulted with many top asset management firms on communications issues and served in senior marketing roles at ICON Funds, Dreyfus Founders Funds, American Century Investments, and A I M Management Group (now known as Invesco). Richards has a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Kansas.
Sharon McMeel, Senior Vice President

Sharon McMeel has worked as a fundraiser in the nonprofit sector for 15 years. She began her career at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland and, after moving to Colorado, joined the Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation. In her current role as Vice President of Philanthropy, Sharon oversees the Annual Giving, Gift Planning, Family Giving and Prospect Development programs. She also staffs three volunteer fundraising committees that include community members, medical staff members and professional advisors, in addition to working directly with donors.
Peggy Warner, Chief Board Relations Officer

Peggy's career has been in the nonprofit world, almost entirely in health care. She grew up in Norfolk, VA and earned her Bachelor's Degree at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She later earned her Master's Degree in Health Sciences from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Peggy joined Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation in 2001 after moving to Denver with her husband and son, for what she thought was an "adventure year." Today, she's still devoted to Children's Colorado as Chief Board Relations Officer at the Foundation and loving life in Denver.
Cary Larger, Chief of Staff

Cary's career started in 1993 at Nordstrom as a salesperson, she quickly moved off the sales floor and took on a position in management, where she stayed for two years. She then landed a corporate job with the Northwest Event Marketing team where she planned corporate events across the western half of the United States. After spending 12 years with Nordstrom, she switched careers and began her work in the nonprofit sector with Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation. Cary holds a Bachelors of Art in Psychology, with a focus in Consumer Psychology, from Marylhurst University.
Jennfer Darling, President and CEO

Jen Darling has worked in the nonprofit sector since earning her bachelor's degree in economics and political science from Northwestern University in 1991. She went on to earn her master's degree in public administration from the University of Colorado in 2000. She was actively involved in the formation of the Emerging Leaders in Development program and continues to serve on the steering committee for the program. Jen also serves as an adjunct professor for the University of Denver in the leadership and organizations program in DU's University College. Jen's strengths include capital and endowment campaigns, major gift fundraising, annual giving, donor recognition, communications, board relations, and strategic planning.
