Marjorie Nockels, Project Coordinator
Start Date: 2017
Marjorie Nockels is Douglas Land Conservancy's Project Coordinator and uses her experience as a public school science teacher, technical writer and landowner to protect Douglas County private and public land for future generations.
A graduate of Colorado State University, Marjorie holds a BA in Technical Journalism and a professional teacher license for secondary science. A science teacher from 2005 to 2017, she has worked for Denver Public Schools and Douglas County Schools. Marjorie caught the teaching bug while volunteering at Morrison Museum of Natural history in the late 1990's and went on to be a volunteer naturalist for Jefferson County Open Space. Currently she serves on the Board of Directors for West Douglas Fire Protection District.
Marjorie likes to hike all over the Front Range, knit socks and sweaters and spend time with her husband, Michael - who doesn't get any of the socks and sweaters she knits, because he is just too big.
