Brian Tobler, Director of Field Services
Start Date:

Brian Tobler joined the Denver Area Council June 16, 2016 as the Director of Field Services. Brian has fifteen years of professional Scouting experience from the Heart of America Council in Kansas City, Missouri. Brian most recently served as Assistant Director of Field Service. He has also served, with great success, as a Senior District Director, District Director and District Executive. Brian earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Avila College in Kansas City, Missouri and is also an Eagle Scout.

Michael Fifhause, Director of Development

Mike is an Eagle Scout and recently served as the Director of Field Services and Chief Operating Officer in the Aloha Council in Honolulu for the past three years. Previously he served in the William Boyce Council in Peoria, Illinois in various positions including the Director of Development for seven years and Finance Director for three years. Mike and his wife, Lyndzie, have twin girls who are seven years old.

Robert Nakagawa, Chief Operating Officer
Start Date: 2017

Robert is an Eagle Scout with an extensive Scouting career. He recently served as the Scout Executive for the Maui County Council in Wailuku, Hawaii. In his seven years as Scout Executive, Robert worked to stabilize the Council's finances, raised $3.5 million towards property improvements, and helped increase service in the rural and remote areas of the Pacific. Previously Robert served in various positions in the Aloha Council in Honolulu for eleven years. In this position, Robert helped revitalize the Pacific Basin Scouting program while managing staff and volunteers across five time zones on thirteen different islands. Robert and his wife, Becky, have four children, between the ages of four and ten years old.

John G. Cabeza, CEO/Executive Director
Start Date: 2010

Mr. Cabeza joined the Denver Area Council January 1, 2010 and has over 36 years of leadership as a professional in the Scouting movement. Serving in seven different Boy Scout Councils, John has been Scout Executive CEO in New Orleans, Louisiana, Saint Petersburg, Florida and Shreveport, Louisiana. A native of North Carolina, he is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.

Mr. Cabeza is committed to making the program of Scouting available to all eligible youth through effective relationships within the community. He is a member of the National Risk Management Advisory Panel and National Youth Protection Advisory Group of the Boy Scouts of America and has a proven track record of sound fiscal management, membership management retention, and youth program development. John is active in many civic, social, and community organizations, is an Eagle Scout and has earned the Vigil Honor of the Order of the Arrow.
