The Colorado Association of Black Professional Engineers and Scientists' (CABPES") mission is to encourage African-Americans and other underrepresented youth to pursue science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers. By doing so, the number of minority STEM professionals will increase to the level that better represents the minority population, while assisting industry in meeting the growing demand for STEM professionals.

Janice Jennings, CABPES Office Consultant

Ms. Jennings retired from AVAYA Communications after 27 years. She worked in various management and technical positions serving both federal and commercial customers. In 2001 Janice founded GipJen and Associates a consulting company that provide project management and administrative services to non-profits and small businesses. Janice attended Sam Houston State University and earned an AA in Elementary Education. Janice has over 3,000 hours of professional development training in software programming, Microsoft PC applications, resource management, network management, conflict resolution, customer service, project management, communication systems design, sales negotiation, business administration, accounting programs, and presentation skills. Janice believes in giving back to the community and is a member of the Philo Club a Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. affiliate, Colorado Black Women for Political Action (CBWPA), Blacks in Government (BIG), and the Denver Section of the National Council of Negro Women Inc., where she served as past president and executive board member. Janice is a faithful member of the Church of Christ, where she serves as a teacher to senior women and VBS youth.
