Julie Van Domelen, CEO/Executive Director

Julie Van Domelen is an expert in the fields of poverty reduction, social protection, safety nets, and community-driven development programs with over 25 years of worldwide experience.
Van Domelen comes to EFAA from the World Bank where she served as a Senior Economist and Lead Social Protection Specialist for 17 years managing multi-million dollar funding to Governments and community-based organizations in Latin America and Africa. She was one of the core team that led the World Bank to increase its support for interventions to reach the poorest households and communities to improve basic services and reduce vulnerability.
After leaving the World Bank in 2005, she has worked as a Social Protection and Safety Net Consultant on various international assignments for the World Bank and the United Nations.
As Mayor of the Town of Lyons from 2009 to 2014, Van Domelen oversaw formulation and execution of a $5 million annual budget; developed key partnerships with local non-profits, county, state, and federal agencies; significantly increased community and volunteer engagement in local governance; initiated efforts in Lyons to address affordable housing and human services; and led the Town effectively through the initial response and immediate recovery efforts from the flood of 2013.
Van Domelen was born in Michigan, raised in Colorado, and returned to the state in 2005. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University and a Master of Public Administration from Princeton University. She is fluent in Spanish and French.
Courtney Schwartz, Director of Programs

Courtney Schwartz, Director of Programs, joined EFAA in 2017 as our Basic Needs Program Manager. She holds a BSW in Clinical Social Work from Western Michigan University and an MSW in Community Social Work from the University of Denver. Courtney brings a decade of experience working for non-profits and government agencies in the Greater Denver metro area. Her specializations include: basic needs case management, job training and program planning. While EFAA's Basic Needs Program Manager, she oversaw the adoption of a new internal database and helped with the organization's smooth transition to becoming a Family Resource Center. Courtney lives in Boulder and purposefully transitioned her career to support the residents and community in which she resides.
Patti Ketchner, Finance Director
Start Date: 2014
Patti Ketchner, Director of Finance, joined the staff in 2014. She holds an MBA from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver. She has over 20 years of business, finance and management experience in diverse fields. She most recently was the CFO of Sirna Therapeutics, where she participated in growing the organization from a small start-up to a publicly traded company that was sold to Merck for $1.1 billion in 2006. Patti lives in Boulder.
Ashley Rumble, Director of Development & Communications

Ashley Rumble, Director of Development & Communications, joined EFAA in 2014. She has dedicated her career to nonprofit development. Prior to her promotion to Director, she served as the Assistant Director of Development focusing her energies on business donor development and key fundraising events. As Grants Coordinator for Live Violence Free she secured 79% of the organization's $1.8M budget through municipal, state, and federal grants. Rumble holds a Masters Degree in Geography from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She lives in Boulder.
