Our patient clinical services are comprised of therapy services as well as evaluations.
Individual and Group based speech and occupational therapies as well as psychological services are available at Developmental FX. This is true for local individuals as well as for anyone who wishes to come to beautiful Denver, Colorado and participate in a treatment intensive. Treatment Intensives provide a unique opportunity for individuals who either do not have access to specialized or appropriate treatment, or simply desire more in depth intervention at a given point in time. Individualized programs are established for those individuals who desire this opportunity. In general, a family would travel to Denver to stay for a week, month or even longer. During this time the child would receive the desired therapies on an individualized intensive schedule. Program planning for the future can be built into the therapy intensive.
Developmental FX provides comprehensive evaluations which result in thorough recommendations, an individualized treatment plan and referrals to appropriate resources, both in the community as well as literature. We can provide a full team assessment involving speech, occupational therapy and psychology. We also can provide any one or combination of these evaluations - we carefully craft an evaluation team based on the referring questions. This team approach is unique and critical for the assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders or when learning, developmental and behavioral questions arise. The recommendations in our written report provide an integrated view of the child and result in intervention plans that are prioritized to maximize individualized development. Thoughtful case conferences with families complete the assessment process, where the information is shared and priorities and recommendations established.
Here are some quotes from families that have benefited from our services:
"We are very thankful for all of the wisdom, fun, and kindness we experienced with you. We are just now feeling some of the real benefits of having most of our Team on the same page for our boys. We also know that we are ALL benefiting from our time with you, now just the boys."
"Each day we and other families are so thankful for people such as yourselves. You've dedicated your time and energy to helping families like ours, spending countless hours and dollars to help and counsel our children."
In terms of evaluations, we provide dozens of families with timely diagnostic information that allows the children or adults to access more comprehensive and diagnostically specific assistance through therapy and school programs. We maintain an intake database to track the numbers of families we see including the communities that they represent. We see children of all socio-economic and racial backgrounds - neurodevelopmental disorders are found in every community, every culture. We are one of the few medicaid providers in the Denver metro area.
Often, our team is charged with diagnosing a child who has been previously gone undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. We are careful to guide the family through the process of learning about the impact this might have for them. Our compassionate, expert approach fosters moving forward instead of being stuck; our families feel successful and hopeful about the future. Our data collection reflects the quantity and quality impact we have and from which we can report.
Here is an example of typical feedback we receive after an evaluation, "we left with a greater understanding of our son's behavior, but more than that, we left feeling encouraged and with the tools we need to support him" (family from rural Colorado).

Developmental FX offers several unique training and mentoring programs. This can be done on site or at our Denver office. Families and professionals will want to take advantage of these programs. Lectures can be provided for school staff, parents and professionals. Some therapists have chosen to work side by side with our staff by coming to Denver and co-treating or observing some of our treatment and assessment sessions. Others prefer to have our staff come to them and provide the training/mentoring at their site. Sometimes the training is set up in conjunction with a treatment intensive, where a family will bring their child to see us and have their therapist accompany them to insure carry over of programming. All training and mentoring is set up on an individualized basis.
A quote from one of our colleagues, a Professor at a College in Illinois:
"There is no way to thank you enough for making our educational conference such a success. The response from all attendees was overwhelmingly positive. We know that parents are deeply grateful for the support and information."
