Description

Every year the Educational Foundation grants scholarships to students attending Colorado colleges and universities to assist them in the study of accounting. The Foundation also presents Gold Key Awards to recognize academic achievement by the outstanding senior in accounting at each Colorado college and university.

Evidence of Program's Success

The number of scholarships awarded to upper division students and graduate students has grown from 21 scholarships in 2010 to 45 scholarships in 2017.

The Foundation awarded scholarships to 68% of qualified applicants in 2017.

Scholarship recipients in 2017 represented 9 of 17 eligible institutions.

One scholarship recipient, Sheila Balzer, became a CPA and eventually became the President of the Educational Foundation's Board of Trustees. She Chaired the Board of Directors of the Colorado Society of CPAs in 2014.
