Description

The Arts & Crafts Fairs provide opportunities for both juried (July) and non-juried (September) artists and craftspersons from throughout Colorado and neighboring states to come to Lake City and market their wares in a customer-friendly and well-organized venue that appeals to a broad range of customer tastes and interests. For 36 years, the 2 annual Arts & Crafts Shows have been held. The July juried show has grown to 80+ vendors and the September non-juried show has grown to 30+ vendors. We generate $10K for Lake City Arts in booth entry fees. Both shows are well attended providing much needed tax revenue for the city and county and increased traffic for local businesses (lodging, retail, dining, etc.). During the July show we also hold a bake sale which raises over $1000 each year for our general operating fund. Over 50 local residents donate homemade baked goods for the sale.

Evidence of Program's Success

We have many vendors who return year after year as well as visitors who specifically plan around these shows. We have maxed out on our space available for booths in July. The past 2 years have generated $60K each year in gross revenue for sales at the Art Shows which translates to city and county sales tax revenues as well as indirect revenues for local businesses.

Description

The Chamber Music Series brings 3 different groups, generally duos or trios to our community each summer. This year we were fortunate to have The University of Arizona Brass, The Woods Trio and The Christines, Flute and Harp Duo. All three performances were sold out. Through a dedicated group of local and seasonal residents who underwrite the program, we are able to attract exceptionally talented artists year after year.

Evidence of Program's Success

We consistantly have more artists interested in performing than we have space in our busy summer calendar. We will be adding a fourth group next year to keep up with demand.
