The communities of the San Luis Valley are connected and supported by rivers. The Rio Grande and its many tributaries provide water for agriculture, cities, recreation, and wildlife, making life in the valley possible. Our dependency on this shared natural resource is what brought farmers, ranchers, recreators, and community members together to form the Rio Grande Headwaters Restoration Project over 15 years ago. The RGHRP seeks to bring people together and build relationships, which results in projects that enhance the ecological, cultural, agricultural, and recreational value of the Rio Grande. Since formed, the RGHRP has improved the condition of the Rio Grande by partnering with over 60 landowners and multiple ditch companies. These incredible efforts could not have happened without the support of individuals like you! While incredible progress has been made, the Rio Grande still faces significant degradation. Please help us continue our efforts to improve the health of the Rio Grande for future generations of farmers, ranchers, recreationists, and nature lovers and the fish, birds, and other animals that call the Rio Grande home.
Third-party vendors charge credit card and electronic check processing fees when you make an online donation. Two percent of each donation helps to cover these fees and ensures the program's long-term sustainability. The two percent processing fee is one of the lowest processing fees in the country.
You will automatically receive an on-screen acknowledgement letter and an e-mailed copy for your donation. Every donation is tax deductible as a charitable contribution to the full extent permitted by law. If you make a donation to a charity that offers Child Care or Enterprise Zone credits (additional Colorado state tax credits), Community First Foundation will acknowledge that your donation was processed successfully, but the charity will issue you an additional receipt pursuant to that. To learn more about these tax credits, contact the specific nonprofits.
Thank you for Donating through ColoradoGives.org: ColoradoGives.org partners with local nonprofits to facilitate online giving. Nonprofits trust us to process their online donations because of our low processing fees, security and other great things. We do this because we're a nonprofit, too!
