About Third-Party Processing Fees
On Colorado Gives Day (12/10/13), 100% of every donation goes to the charities.
The other days of the year Community First Foundation pays 100% of all processing fees on the first $50,000 in donations per organization for nonprofits in seven-county metro Denver. Thereafter, a 2.6% processing fee will be applied to donations to help defray costs. For nonprofits outside of this area, a 2.6% processing fee will be applied to donations to help defray costs.
Common QuestionsWill I receive a receipt for my donation?
Yes, you will automatically receive an on-screen acknowledgment letter and an e-mailed copy. Every charity profiled on ColoradoGives.org is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service and the Secretary of State and are in good standing, so you can be certain that your donations are tax deductible.
If your contribution is being made to a charity that does not offer additional state tax credits (e.g., Child Care and Enterprise Zone), then your contribution will go to Community First Foundation which will grant your donation to the charity you designate. This allows Community First Foundation to issue a donation receipt to you immediately upon completion of your transaction. If your contribution is being made to a charity that offers Child Care Credits or Enterprise Zone (additional Colorado state tax credits), Community First Foundation will acknowledge that the gift was processed successfully, but the charity that offers additional state tax credits will issue you an additional receipt pursuant to that. To learn more about these tax credits, contact the individual nonprofits.Where can I learn more about ColoradoGives?
