Into Your Hands Africa is a nonprofit 501©3 tax-exempt organization. Its mission is to empower youth and families in rural Uganda through education and enterprise development. The foundation operates independently and supports programs such as women's enterprise training, life-skills student education, small family owned businesses, community development associations and school-based agricultural enterprises. In 2007, IYHA became a formalized nonprofit organization and today the organization works in over seventy villages across two sub counties. Activities to meet the overall mission of the organization include: • Providing assistance for families to develop their own revenue streams through small-scale livestock and agricultural enterprise businesses • Empowering women and girls in Uganda with the tools necessary to attain economic and social self-sufficiency • Developing stronger communities through program engagement, exploration and implementation to support a shift from subsistence farming to commercial agriculture • Assisting youth and young adults in attaining a vocational and formal education We accomplish these objectives through our enterprise programming which allows for food production, income generation and self-sufficiency. To date, projects have included Send-a-Piglet-Home, Send-a-Chicken-Home, mango farms, clonal coffee projects, and other agricultural enterprises. These small-scale family enterprises provide opportunities for families to increase their income and become self-reliant.
Third-party vendors charge credit card and electronic check processing fees when you make an online donation. Two percent of each donation helps to cover these fees and ensures the program's long-term sustainability. The two percent processing fee is one of the lowest processing fees in the country.
You will automatically receive an on-screen acknowledgement letter and an e-mailed copy for your donation. Every donation is tax deductible as a charitable contribution to the full extent permitted by law. If you make a donation to a charity that offers Child Care or Enterprise Zone credits (additional Colorado state tax credits), Community First Foundation will acknowledge that your donation was processed successfully, but the charity will issue you an additional receipt pursuant to that. To learn more about these tax credits, contact the specific nonprofits.
