iEmpathize

A nonprofit organization

To ensure that no child experiences exploitation, we train adults who work with youth-counselors, teachers, parents-with strategies and tools that enable them to empower their youth with safety strategies. Our cornerstone resource is The Empower Youth Program, an exploitation prevention resource.

Testimonials

- "The Empower Youth Program gave students tools to deal with negative pushes and pulls. We are still working with students using the program tools. This program was just what they needed."
-Director of Clear Creek Rock House, Idaho Springs, CO

"The most useful part [of The Empower Youth Program] was showing how empathy can really end exploitation if everyone contributes, and that you can always be a positive pull in another's life."
-8th grade student, Westlake Middle School, Broomfield, CO

"The Empower Youth Program was an amazing experience for my students and myself. What the program allowed the students to do was to really examine themselves and their lives and think about all the experiences they have had where they have either showed empathy or someone has empathized with them. The program let the students be open and feel free to talk about difficult topics in a safe space. What I really enjoyed about the program was just the fact that with the curriculum, it made it possible for students to want to share and hear others' stories. We were able to build a stronger community in the classroom because of the program. Overall, the program has left the students with a stronger sense of themselves and how to put themselves in 'other's shoes' and truly empathize."
- Alejandro Trujillo, High School Teacher, Soledad Enrichment Action Charter Schools, Los Angeles, CA

Mission

We equip adults to empower youth to eradicate child exploitation.

Background Statement

Our organization began through the passion and journey of a small group of individuals committed to generating solutions that would eradicate child exploitation both at home and internationally. Since 2009, iEmpathize has focused on grass-roots and sector-based solutions. Early projects included prevention education in the form of media-based curricula for vulnerable youth aging out of orphanages in Russia and educational media that equips the trucking industry to recognize and respond to sign of exploitation.

Our cornerstone program is The Empower Youth Program, an exploitation prevention curriculum for youth aged 12 and up designed to be used in schools, juvenile corrections, group homes, after-school programming, and more. We provide training for adults who work with youth in these and other contexts, develop tools that equip them to bring empowering strategies to youth, and distribute those resources as widely as possible through a scholarship that ensures our programing will be accessible to anyone who needs it. When you donate to iEmpathize, you fund this ongoing process of training, development, distribution, and evaluation.
