For over five decades, Havern School has nurtured neurodiverse learners, supporting their academic and social-emotional well-being through specialized, small group instruction and integrated therapies.
Our students range from ages 5 to 14 years and are offered an intimate 4:1 student-to-staff ratio, master teachers, engaged occupational therapists, speech/language pathologists, and psychologists. Together, this collaborative team tailors a comprehensive program of daily intervention services for your unique child so that they can reach their full potential and feel confident in the process. Contributions directly impact our students and community through Havern's Annual Fund and Tuition Support Program.
On December 1, 2010, we carried Jackson away from the only home he had ever known in St. Petersburg, Russia and into our family. From the moment we met him in the orphanage, we could feel his spirit, his creativity and his dynamic mind continually at work. His love was enormous. His curiosity and energy was beyond anything we had seen.
And the traditional schools in Colorado did not know how to serve our son.
I am a new member of the Board of Trustees. I am a passionate advocate of meeting children exactly where they are at. Most importantly, I am Jackson's mom -- and I am here to tell you that without Havern, he would not be bright, engaged six-year-old child he is today.
It is a place like no other.
For the past 50 years, students like Jackson have been able to be in classrooms with a 4 to 1 ratio, on a beautiful 13-acre campus, with therapeutic service as part of our daily curriculum. We come from 47 different zip codes in Colorado just to be a part of this community. We move from out of state simply to secure a spot for our child in the Havern community.
We do this because, as parents, we understand that we have one of the nation's most treasured educational secrets right in our backyard.
However, the school can't do it alone. We need your help. If Havern has touched your life, the life of your child, grandchild, or friend, please know that your contribution will be met with the spirit that this school has kept alive since 1966.
Thank you for considering Havern in your giving plans this year.
With gratitude,
Laura , Jackson's mom
Havern School creates confident learners by nurturing the potential of students with neurodiverse learning profiles through the use of specialized, small group instruction and integrated therapies.
The Havern student body is a unique and lively group of elementary and middle school-aged children with a diverse set of learning profiles—often include learning disabilities in reading, mathematics, and writing. While some students have a medical diagnosis or syndrome, many Havern students need to strengthen their skills in areas such as attention, planning, studying, organizing, or strengthening social skills.
