Mission

With respect, compassion and warm hospitality, Haven of Hope, without judgement, seeks to sustain the lives of people of all beliefs and persuasions while walking with them in pursuit of permanent housing, stable employment, personal financial acuity and stable emotional health.

Background Statement

Haven of Hope was established in 1998 with a simple goal in mind: to take care of Denver’s unhoused neighbors. Founded by two Franciscan brothers, Haven of Hope began by providing basic survival needs to any and all who came to their century-old 800 square foot home. Today, that same compassion and concern for those less fortunate continues to drive everything that we do. What began as a mustard seed planted in faith has blossomed into what has been referred to as the “Miracle on Lipan Street.”

Haven of Hope has grown from a small food outreach program and basic needs provider into a multifaceted resource center connecting people to a multitude of critical services. Every service and resource provided aims at empowering our guests to regain control of their lives and to move from surviving to thriving. After twenty-five years of serving Denver’s unhoused community, Haven of Hope continues to operate by the simple motto “We are here to serve, not to judge.”
