Please help limit the transmission of diseases.

$1,420

Contaminated water and poor sanitation are linked to transmission of diseases such as cholera, diarrhoea, dysentery, and hepatitis. Proper hygiene helps reduce the spread of COVID-19 infections. This grant will benefit 465 families (2,325 family members) in the rural area of Puerto Escondido and San Pelayo, in department of Cordoba, Colombia. Biosand filters will be installed in all houses, and additionally, hygiene education will be provided, that will raise community awareness to fight the spread of COVID-19 and other diseases. Three follow up visits will be made to each family with soap and customized bottles to transport safe water to school.

You can feel confident that your donation is effectively used as all grants are reviewed by the Rotary Foundation Expert Staff, verifying community needs, implementation plan, budget, and project sustainability. The Rotary Foundation also requires financial accountability and reporting. If for some reason this project is unable to be approved, your donation will be applied to the next Rotary Club of Fort Collins international project approved by the Rotary Foundation.
