CHILDSAFE'S MISSION
ChildSafe is a non-profit that provides therapy to kids in our community and throughout Northern Colorado that have been abused, primarily sexually abused. And, ChildSafe is Northern Colorado's only comprehensive outpatient child sexual abuse treatment program. ChildSafe never turns anyone away due to the inability to pay and continuously provides services and support for as long as the child and family needs therapy. The treatments are rarely fully covered by insurance so ChildSafe relies heavily on donors and fundraising events in order to pay for the sessions. They treat all children and families regardless of binary/non-binary, orientation, race, religion, etc... and are doing incredible work helping families heal.
MY PERSONAL CONNECTION
I’ve never been a victim of child sexual abuse—but I’ve walked closely beside those who have. Friends. Colleagues. People I’ve loved and cared for—each carrying invisible scars that shaped how they see themselves and others. Some have found healing and reclaimed their power. Others still live in silent pain, repeating patterns born from wounds they never deserved. What I’ve learned is that untreated trauma doesn’t fade—it ripples outward, affecting families, relationships, and entire communities. ChildSafe gives children a chance to heal before those wounds define their future. Their work doesn’t just restore childhood—it breaks generational cycles of suffering.
