Greetings!

What was the best gift you ever remember receiving as a kid?
When I was in sixth grade, my parents gave me a ten speed bike for Christmas. It probably took them months to save for. It was a steel workhorse. It wasn't fancy. I'm sure it was a tank. BUT, it was hands down the best gift I have received in my life.
A bike for a kid like me was life changing!
That silver tank of a ten speed opened up the world to me. I could ride for miles around my small town in coastal New Jersey. I could get into adventures of my own. I could see the world. Cycling gave me an activity that I could excel in and feel good about myself. My dad would ride with me a lot of times, racing me the last quarter mile home. I never could beat him. After I left for college, my dad kept that ten speed bike and rode it himself for five more years.
Twenty five years later, I still think about the impact that bike has had on my life. I left that small town, saw the world, got a couple of college degrees, and made a home in Colorado. With the help of many, I built two companies that make the world a better place. I'm raising my daughter to enjoy being outside and to love cycling as well.
Now, I want to give deserving kids bikes and now, I'm turning to YOU!
This year, as we approach Colorado Gives Day, I am raising money to build bikes for kids here in Colorado. A couple of years ago, I joined the board of Can'd Aid, an organization that has built thousands of bicycles for kids who can't afford them. This year, I would love to help them raise an additional $2,000. I'm kicking off the fundraising effort by donating $500 myself.
Can you make a donation to help Can'd Aid build bikes for kids in need?
Anything will help - $10, $100, or $1000! Please donate by December 6th, Colorado Gives Day.
About Can’d Aid
In addition to building bikes, Can'd Aid has donated over one million cans of water to communities affected by disasters, donated hundreds of instruments, and recycled the equivalent millions of aluminum cans.
Can’d Aid works to promote healthy, active lifestyles - particularly in under-served communities. Using the power of volunteers, they build bicycles and skateboards for underprivileged students at Title I schools nationwide, providing them the equipment to get outside and play, and encouraging a love and appreciation for nature. By working with professional mountain bikers like Jeff Lenosky and Neko Mulally, Can’d Aid also creates opportunities that get kids excited to learn a new skill and establish a lifelong constructive outlet.
