Glass Hearts

In Colorado last year, nearly 4,000 babies were born to teen parents. While their are hundreds of teen mom resources their are few for teen dads. These young fathers hide in the shadows often repeating the physical or emotional abuse they experienced. We run towards them while others run away!

The Young Dads Achieving Careers program (YDAC) is the signature program of Glass Hearts. This program is designed to come alongside and guide young fathers ages 16-21 in successfully building all aspects of their lives--physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and educational. Program components will draw on positive relationships to build key personal strength and skill-sets in these teen fathers.

Evidence of Program's Success

In last year we have had 11 young fathers find, and keep a job, stay involved in their child's life, and stay involved in the YDAC Program. In addition, we had contact with over 50 young dads and supported them through one-on-one guidance and connection into community resources.
