Mission

The Primary Purpose or Mission Statement of Organization

Year of Incorporation: 1997 Non-profit Federal Tax ID# 84-1359227

It is the Mission of Fiesta Colorado to help preserve the cultural traditions of the Spanish and Mexican dance & music arts. With the growing Hispanic population in Colorado it is vital to provide positive opportunities for the children of this culture to understand their roots and family traditions. It is also important to create significant professional learning and performing opportunities for those dedicated folk artists who will continue to cultivate the next generation of artists for all people to understand, to learn and enjoy.

Background Statement

Fiesta Colorado is an incorporated group of individuals formed together to support and preserve the Hispanic arts in Colorado. The group is a non-profit organization and was organized because of a need to raise funds for the stability and growth of the Hispanic performing groups within the Colorado area.

Fiesta Colorado Inc. is both the successor and the extension of the Fiesta Colorado Dance Company founded in 1972 by the Trujillo family, Jeanette, Monty and father ,Jim, who are all natives of Denver and of Southern Colorado. Fiesta Colorado became non-profit in 1997.

Fiesta Colorado was founded to become the administrative, promotional and fundraising organization for a group of dancers, musicians and cultural preservationists interested in preserving the Hispanic and performing arts in Colorado, as well as to create a healthy environment for youth by teaching Hispanic culture and customs. The dance and performing ensembles range from a performing group for children to a professional dance company. They also support the work of professional and life artists.

We also serve as a management group for creating and presenting Mexican, Spanish, and Latin performing groups. The management functions of Fiesta Colorado include providing a) qualified Instructors and choreographers b) facilities for rehearsals and performances c) costumes and supplies d) operational and organizational funds

e) promotional expertise f) programming for educational outreach g) professional programs

Fiesta Colorado provides opportunity to plan, develop, organize and promote the Hispanic dance arts of Colorado that has existed in the past, along with maintaining the base for improved training of dance and performing arts companies. The immediate goal of Fiesta Colorado is to provide Mexican and Spanish cultural performances. These programs serve as the base for a season of community presentations and for educational outreach.
