The Friends of the Front Range Wildlife Refuges (FFRWR) is the only membership nonprofit organization focuses on the conservation, advocacy and funding needs of our largest local urban national wildlife refuges, the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) and the Rocky Flats NWR.
The mission of FFRWR is to support and promote the Rocky Mountain National Wildlife Refuge and Rocky Flats National Wildlife Refuge in their efforts to conserve and restore native habitat and wildlife, as well as to provide meaningful opportunities for the public to experience wildlife and nature near a major metropolitan area.
The FFRWR and previous organizations have been supporting the vision of the Refuges for over twenty years.
Through member events, communications, advocacy and fundraising, we support the Refuges in
•Conserving and restoring native habitat and wildlife
•Giving the public opportunities to experience wildlife and nature near a major metropolitan area
•Providing environmental education in partnership with families and schools
We also support the refuges by:
•Keeping our congressional leaders and other Friends Groups informed about the successes and concerns of our refuges
•Soliciting expertise, ideas, funds, and materials from the community to help make our local refuges outstanding
"We love seeing bison and eagles almost in our backyard at the Arsenal Refuge."
"Without our Friends group, there would be fewer opportunities for low-income students to come to the Refuge and fewer resources for all to engage with the Refuge."
"We need to keep our Refuges healthy by supporting our Friends group."
"Thanks for helping to bring back the black-footed ferret!"
