A nonprofit organization

Reaching the next generation for Christ by equipping {grand}parents to do spiritual training at home using fun and effective Bible activities.

Testimonials

Tonight was the night we usually do Family Time but Mike {husband} was gone. Two kids showed up at our door with a plate of cookies and asked if we were doing Family Time. Isn't that so cute?! Kids just love Family Time. What a great ministry.

Just this evening you spoke at MOPS. I wanted to thank you for your time and let you know that you have given me the desire, and tools, to become a spiritual leader for my six month old son, Tobias. I am a single mother and before tonight was burdened by the thought of my son growing up and dreading church as I did. I know that this is going to be difficult to do on my own, but with the Family Time books I believe I have a starting point.

Just had to write straight away to tell you this one. It is 7:30 pm here and Luke is saying "I'm not going to bed if we don't have a Family Time!" Maybe our next one should be on obeying your parents!

We uncovered your book draft that you gave us this past week. So last night we did the first one on creation. It was a big hit, obviously. Thank you so much for giving it to us as well as sending your ideas. We really appreciate it as neither of us are too creative! I think there are a few missionary families here who are interested in borrowing our books.

S. Newton, Kenya, Africa (missionary)

I have done a Family Time activity with my kids the last three weeks. They love it! They are 12 and 14 years old. I am also talking with them about helping me teach younger kids using the activities. Everywhere I go I am talking about Family Time.

Mission

The mission of Family Time Training is to reach future generations with the Good News of Jesus Christ by training families to teach children Christian principles and values in the home.

Background Statement

Family Time: A Mission Worthy of Your Time

Family Time Training was formed in response to a crisis within the church. The crisis has two sides. First, families have abdicated their role as the primary spiritual trainers in the lives of children. Second, the church has assumed the role of primary spiritual trainer for children.

For over 20 years, Family Time has been working with churches and families to bridge this gap and provide helpful resources to both parents and church staff (i.e. Children's and Family Pastors). These resources include face-to-face trainings, website, free and paid activities (digital and hard-copy), monthly email support, and consultation/encouragement as needed.

It is relatively simple to have a positive, powerful impact on this crisis! A solution: churches train, equip and support families to re-assume their God given role as the primary spiritual trainer in the lives of children.

Family Time is a tool designed to help families reach the core value of providing home-based, spiritual training in the lives of children. Family Time is fun and effective. Using the language of children- activity and object lessons - Family Time makes learning scripture exciting and memorable. One formal training each week sets up informal training throughout the week. Family Time also has resources for churches to use in equipping and supporting families. Home becomes the primary place for faith formation and church provides ongoing training and support.
