At Western Border Collie Rescue (WBCR), we're seeing a shift — the dogs being left behind in shelters aren’t the easy-to-place companions. More and more, we're being called to help the scared, shut-down, and misunderstood dogs — the ones who’ve known fear, neglect, or trauma.
These dogs need more than just a warm bed. They need time, patience, experienced foster homes, and often professional training to help them heal and learn to trust again. The journey is longer, but the transformation is powerful — and absolutely worth it.
