Savio is excited to participate as an official charity partner in the 2026 Denver Colfax Marathon on May 16th and 17th, 2026. Join us for a fun weekend celebrating community, and strengthening Colorado families.

Why Colfax? Denver's Colfax Marathon is Colorado's largest running weekend of the year. With 8 races to chose from, including a fun marathon relay and 5k run/walk, there is a race for everyone! For more information or to register for a race, visit the Colfax Marathon site here - https://www.runcolfax.org/

All runners participating on behalf of Savio are encouraged to fundraise with a goal of $500.

Why Savio? Savio is a nonprofit mental health agency that supports 1,700 families across Colorado. We provide mental and behavioral health services free of cost to the families we serve. Our programming is done in-home and in-community to limit barriers to accessing care.

Supporting Savio supports kids like Jace.

Jace, thirteen, is an outgoing, active teen who spends his days playing soccer and basketball, hanging out with friends, and exploring the mountains with his parents. On the surface, Jace is your typical Colorado kid. But his childhood was marked by trauma and neglect.

Not long ago, Jace was not the same bubbly kid laughing on the field. Jace had been engulfed by the lingering scars of his childhood, overwhelmed by fear, of the dark, of rejection, and of his safety. His sadness and anger often erupted into emotional outbursts. He pushed his parents away and withdrew from the world around him.

Desperate to find help for their family, his parents turned to Savio. Jace began working with his therapist to learn how to calm his body and make sense of what he’d been through.

In the beginning, Jace was hesitant to open up. But everything shifted during an exercise called a trauma narrative. Jace wrote about his experiences on glass plates and read them aloud to his parents. Then, they all threw them down. As the glass shattered, Jace took a deep breath and his parents leaned in, holding him tight. They were ready to step into something new together.

Today, Jace fills his home with laughter and energy. He talks openly about his feelings. And he now knows his parents are on his team. For the first time, Jace isn’t carrying his burdens alone.

He is learning what it feels like to be a kid again.

Join us in supporting Team Savio at the Colfax Marathon and support the therapy and care that help kids like Jace heal.
