Goal:
- (Raised to $7k thanks to our community!) RAISE $5,000 for "Connections of Hope" by Hornbuckle Foundation
- Collect basic needs and life saving donations
- Bring awareness to the homeless crisis in Arapahoe County

Details: Starting with bare minimum necessities, the Hornbuckle Foundation team will walk the streets of Arapahoe County (Littleton), navigating the every day challenges of those experiencing homelessness. The morning will start with a search for coffee, food, cold weather gear, and shelter to survive the night(s). The team will remain outside, in solidarity, until we reach our financial goal. "Connections of Hope" is a peer outreach program supported by the Region 9 Opioid Settlement Funds Council. It is a comprehensive outreach program dedicated to transforming the lives of unhoused individuals by providing a pathway to recovery and stability. Our mission is to offer accessible, professional services including detoxification programs, treatment facilities, sober living environments, secure housing, and thorough peer case management. We believe that the foundation of lasting change lies in the power of empathy and shared experiences; hence, our work is significantly facilitated and enriched by peer support specialists. These specialists, who have triumphantly navigated their own journeys to recovery, bring invaluable insights and empathy, fostering an environment of trust, motivation, and hope. Through collaboration, we not only address the immediate needs of the homeless community but also empower them to envision and achieve a future filled with dignity, health, and self-sufficiency.

Program Impact
From October 1, 2023 - September 30, 2024, our “Connections of Hope” peer outreach and navigation team connected with over 1,800 unhoused individuals in Arapahoe County. Of these, 27% were placed in treatment or detox and 43% went to sober living homes, apartments and/or are actively engaged in recovery services. A success rate of 72% is INCREDIBLE for this demographic! We use basic needs supplies to build trusting relationships as connection primes the brain for willingness to change. There is so much work to be done and we are dedicated to this mission.
