Close your eyes for a moment:
Hear the locker doors snapping shut.
Feel the gym floor echo under your sneakers.
Picture the hallway where you first found your people
— or the classroom where a teacher finally said,
“You’re really good at this.”
Every one of us has a memory from George Washington High School that still lives somewhere inside us — a yearbook photo you swore you’d never show anyone (until now), a best friend made on a random Tuesday, the teacher who pushed you harder because they knew you could handle it.
Those moments didn’t just happen. They were shaped by a community that showed up, cared, and invested in us.
Now, it’s our turn.
As we prepare for the GW Through the Years Celebration in May, we’re rallying alumni, families, and friends to help us reach our $25,000 fundraising goal before the big night.
Meeting this goal means today’s students can experience the magic we did and more: the late-night rehearsals, the pep rallies, the art shows, the big wins, the small wins, and all the unexpected moments that turn into lifelong stories.
Maybe you’re planning to be there in May or maybe you can’t attend — and we’ll genuinely miss you. But if you can’t come home to GW in person, you can still come home in spirit. Please consider making a donation in your absence to support the next generation walking those same hallways.
And because a little fun never hurt anyone:
Every gift of $100 or more enters you into a random drawing for a special GW Class Reunion Prize.
So dig out that old yearbook.
Laugh at your haircut.
Remember who you were becoming at 15, 16, 17.
And let that feeling guide your generosity.
Give today — for the memories that shaped us, and for the students creating theirs right now. Let’s reach our goal together and make this year’s celebration one you’ll never forget.
