A Waitlist of Hope: Why We're Launching Our 25th Anniversary Campaign

Ten schools are waiting. Ten communities across Colorado—from Summit County to Denver—have reached out asking when Celebrate the Beat can bring dance and live music to their students. Principals have seen the research, heard the stories, and want their children to experience what thousands of Colorado students already know: that when you discover you can dance, you discover you can do anything.

But we can't say yes. Not yet.

For 25 years, Celebrate the Beat has transformed lives through our unique approach to dance education. We don't just teach steps—we build futures. With two professional teaching artists and a live musician in every class, we create experiences where struggling students find success, isolated children discover community, and every child learns they're capable of extraordinary things.

The demand is overwhelming. The need is urgent. And this campaign—our first-ever multi-year fundraising effort—will help us say "yes" to those ten waiting schools.

What Makes CTB Different: The Method Behind the Magic

Walk into any Celebrate the Beat class and you'll immediately notice something different. Live percussion fills the room—not recorded music, but a musician responding in real-time to every movement, every breakthrough, every moment of joy. Musicians creating rhythms that pulse through the room and scoring each leap like that child is a main character.

Then our teaching artists: two professionals trained in the nationally-recognized National Dance Institute method, working together to ensure every single child succeeds. Not some children. Not the naturally athletic or coordinated ones. Every. Single. Child.

This is the CTB difference.

Our approach is:

  • Radically inclusive – No auditions. No fees. No prerequisites. Every child in the grade participates during the school day.
  • Language-accessible – Bilingual teaching artists deliver instruction in both English and Spanish, ensuring immigrant families feel welcomed and seen.
  • Joyfully rigorous – We maintain the highest standards while meeting each child exactly where they are.
  • Community-building – Every program culminates in a live performance where students showcase their growth for peers, families, and communities.

As third grader Nya shared: "CTB made me feel like I mattered and gave me confidence and that my teachers cared about me."

Your Three-Year Pledge Creates Lasting Change

Why three years?

Sustainability: Three-year pledges allow us to plan with confidence, hire full-time staff, and commit to new school partnerships knowing we have the resources to follow through.

Impact: Your pledge can be spread across three tax years, making larger gifts more accessible while maximizing your tax benefits.

Transformation: Three years gives us time to adopt all ten schools on our waitlist, serve 3,000 additional children, and build the reserve fund that ensures CTB's future for the next 25 years.

We teach children that anything is possible. Now we're asking you to believe the same thing—that it's possible to reach every child on our waitlist. That it's possible to build an organization strong enough to serve Colorado's children for another 25 years. That it's possible to create a future where every child discovers their own unlimited potential.
