The Denver Public Library Friends Foundation (DPLFF, Friends Foundation, or the Foundation) traces its roots to 1940. 

The Friends Foundation seeks private charitable contributions to supplement the library’s budget and advocates for public funding to help the library accomplish its mission.

Your Donation Supports:

$1,000 could help purchase 10 audiobook licenses for popular classic books. 

$500 could decrease the summer learning gap by funding a week of Summer of Adventure programming for kids. 

$250 could provide 6 months of a WiFi hotspot for library customers who cannot access at-home internet. 

$100 could provide snacks for teens participating in after-school games, book and writing clubs, crafting, and Teen Advisory boards.

Mission

The Denver Public Library Friends Foundation's mission is to enrich the community by building support and raising money to enhance Denver Public Library's programs and services.

Background Statement

The Denver Public Library (DPL) is the most-visited cultural attraction in Denver with over 4 million in-person visits annually. This is twice as many as the Denver Zoo and three times as many as the Denver Art Museum and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.

The library plays a crucial role and is successful at addressing many of the city’s most pressing needs. Your donation supports DPL's highly regarded, outcome-based programs and services which assist:

- Children with literacy education.

- Youth who need a safe after-school space where they can connect, learn, and develop social and emotional skills.

- Immigrants and refugees working on citizenship exam preparation and English language acquisition.

- People experiencing life challenges related to homelessness, mental health, and substance misuse with connection and referral services.

- Those who are digitally disconnected with free computers and internet access.

- Entrepreneurs with business planning and research.

- Those who are unemployed with job search assistance.

- Older adults and others experiencing social isolation and loneliness with opportunity and connection

researchers studying Colorado’s history and their family tree, or Colorado’s history with extensive resources.

- And, of course, those looking for a great book, movie, and/or music with an abundant selection of books and media.
