To provide support for the Denver Police Department through four strategic initiatives including: Broadening community outreach by supporting actives to strengthen those relationships and advance educational efforts; promote officer and community safety by supporting innovative tools that save lives and emphasizing partnerships; advancing innovative technology and training by providing the most advanced crime fighting equipment and training; increasing awareness and recognition of departmental service by providing community education and information about the dedication effort and sacrifice of the men and women of the department, both sworn and civilian and to show appreciation of their efforts.

Annual event featuring a free picnic, activities including face-painting, rock climbing, tricycle obstacle course, dance contest and free backpacks filled with school supplies.
Attendance at the event has increased over the two years it has been held. This year over 3,000 people attended and school supplies were provided to nearly 2,500 families and children.

A state-of-the-art training simulator for police officers in Denver and made available to departments throughout the Metro Area and state.
The simulator provides 300 degree scenarios for shoot/don't shoot situations, use of less lethal force and deescalation techniques. Up to four officers can be trained at a time.

SWAT officers are faced with serious incidents, many requiring entry from building roofs or climbing from other locations. Specialized equipment and training provides SWAT officers with the capability to make these unique entries safer.

Program in partnership with the Boy Scouts that trains young men and women in leadership as well as police procedures and policies to prepare them for careers in law enforcement.
A large number of Explorers have gone on to have careers in law enforcement in the Denver Police Department and other metro area police agencies.

Specialized equipment that can be used to in gunshot violence to save lifes before emergency medical responders can arrive.
Kits have already been credited by medical personnel with saving three lives, an officer attacked by a dog that severed an artery and a young girl caught in the crossfire of a gang shooting; a Colorado State Patrol Officer. The kit was also used in a recent incident by two officers who were able to save a victim until he arrived at Denver Health ER.
