City Year Denver Mentors

City Year is an education-focused nonprofit organization. We partner with public schools by placing trained AmeriCorps members full-time in the classroom to provide high-impact student, classroom, and school-wide
support to help keep students in school and on track to graduate.

City Year Denver's Mentor Program was developed by the City Year Women's Initiative as an opportunity for prominent business and community leaders to more deeply engage with City Year's work while simultaneously showcasing their commitment to education and leadership development. This group started as women of different ages, professions, and ethnic backgrounds sharing one common purpose - to help advance City Year's mission and ensure students enter 10th grade on track and on time. Research has shown that students who reach 10th grade with their peers are four times more likely to graduate. The Mentor Program is designed to
support our mission and expanded in 2015. It now includes both men and women to help City Year Denver continue on a path to sustained growth by raising awareness among prominent leaders throughout the Denver area.
