COVID-19 Response Fund Boulder County

Your Community Foundation has established the COVID-19 Response Fund Boulder County, to ensure essential services for community members who find themselves at the intersection of being most vulnerable to the virus and most impacted by inequity. The foundation's promise is to be a catalyst and to fight inequity by creating systems where all people can thrive. At this critical time, investing in continuing access to care, food, hygiene, shelter, housing and other services for the most vulnerable is important to keep the entire community healthy.

The COVID-19 Response Fund Boulder County will first focus our philanthropic efforts on ensuring that nonprofits providing such services are able to implement best practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and keep their services flowing.

COVID-19 Response Fund Boulder County Update

The Community Foundation is providing COVID-19 funding in three phases - prevention, intervention, and recovery.

Prevention Phase - First Round of Grantmaking: Community Foundation Boulder County announced the release of the first round of 14 grants totaling $120,000 from the COVID-19 Response Fund Boulder County.

Prevention Phase - Second Round of Grantmaking: This round will see $210,000 go to 23 of the organizations listed below prioritizing people experiencing homelessness, seniors living in poverty, family resource centers, and emergency food provision. Additionally, these grants expand our COVID-19 grantmaking to include domestic violence shelters, nonprofit medical clinics, and organizations serving undocumented families and individuals.

Prevention Phase - Third Round of Grantmaking: As of April 21, thanks to extraordinarily generous donors, we are making the third round of grants from the COVID-19 Response Fund Boulder County. $121,000 is being granted to local organizations, bringing the total granted from the fund since March 20 to $391,000.

Our deepest gratitude goes out to these donors and to everyone for digging deeper during these emotionally and financially stressful times. To date, more than 500 donors have made it possible to distribute urgent funding since March 13.

What's next?

Next week your Community Foundation released a request for proposals (RFP) on our website to begin "Phase 2: Intervention" grants from the COVID-19 Response Fund Boulder County. While the fund will continue to support nonprofit organizations working at the nexus of those on the margins and most vulnerable to the virus, the multi-faceted implications of COVID-19 haves created a vast array of needs that continue to broaden beyond the most basic.
