Organization History

A Summary of the Agency's Mission, History,
Principal Programs, & Accomplishments

Hope for those who feel hopeless: A Worthy Mission. Colorado Christian Services is a state licensed, non-profit, child placement agency dedicated to providing professional counseling services to women in unintended pregnancies, serving children awaiting placement through foster care, and assisting couples in building their families through adoption. The agency serves people nationwide and specializes primarily in infant adoptions.

Our history shows a long line of service to our community. In 1963, Colorado Christian Services was established to serve women in unintended pregnancies who had nowhere to turn. For over 50 years, Colorado Christian Services has provided thousands of women and their unborn children in the Denver Metropolitan area with a wealth of services to meet their physical and emotional needs. Food, clothing, and housing have been furnished, when needed. We have also assisted women in obtaining medical insurance and locating a doctor for their pre-natal care, as well as provided transportation to and from the doctor's office. Pregnancy counseling services are always free to our maternity clients, whether they are planning to parent their unborn children or planning adoption.

In our foster care program, dedicated Christian families provide loving homes to children awaiting adoption. Our state-licensed foster parents offer stability to children in care, and lovingly serve as the link between the birth parents and the adoptive parents.

Furthermore, we have helped more than 1,500 adoptive families, who were unable to have children biologically, to become proud parents of adopted children. We are proud of the fact that children of all races, placed by Colorado Christian Services, are living in virtually every state in our nation.

Our Counseling Program offers caring, Christian counseling to families. Dr. Steven White, a licensed marriage and family therapist, offers professional counseling to families, couples, and individuals of all ages. No one is turned away, due to an inability to pay.

My name is Mandy. I am the birthmother of a beautiful girl, Lauren. I emphasize my title as birthmother because adoption was the best choice for me. Here is my story.

In 2006 I gave birth to an amazing baby girl. Four years later, I can see she is a happy, healthy bundle of joy. She is truly a blessing to her adoptive parents/family.

My unexpected pregnancy left me with an abundance of uncertainties. The only thing certain, in my mind, was that I knew I was not ready to raise a child, emotionally or financially. With the guidance of God, and the support and dedication of the staff at Colorado Christian Services, I made one of the best decisions of my life. I chose adoption for my baby. My counselor, and the staff at CCS, reached out to me and became such an important part of my life and the decisions I faced with my unanticipated pregnancy. I am grateful everyday for their caring services, and still maintain a wonderful relationship with the staff involved in my adoption case.

Today, I am a proud member serving in the United States Air Force. With the strength God granted me to make my decision of adoption, opened the doors of opportunity for my life.

CCS is more then a adoption agency, they are more like family! I still remember our first phone call to them and how comforting and encouraging they were in a time we felt hopeless!!! They are awesome and walk you through every step of the process. Although they have been doing this for years they still care and get excited and cry right a long with you!!!! Please consider CCS for Colorado Gives Day! Jared and Loral-adoptive parents

We adopted our son through CCS, and we LOVE this agency and its staff! After one informational meeting, we knew that this was the place for us. The staff is incredible - to say that they care is a massive understatement. The team at CCS is focused on all participants in an adoption - the birthparents, the child, and the adoptive family - and they treat each of those participants as unequivocal equals. Each adoption is unique, and the adoption of our son was certainly that. The staff handled all of our ups and downs with care, grace, and strength. They laugh, cry, and pray with you as you navigate the journey. Our son is approaching his third birthday, and we're grateful every day for the hard work that the CCS team put in to make him a permanent part of our family. We are currently back in the process with them and are waiting for a second baby, and to me, the fact that we've returned to go through it again with this incredible team is all the recommendation needed. As just one of the waiting families who CCS works so hard for, we thank you for helping support their mission! -- Sara and John, Adoptive Parents

My wife and I began trying for a baby shortly after getting married in 1997. 15 years later we had been unable to get pregnant. Through a family friend, we met our wonderful Birth Mother and began the search for an adoption agency.

From the first phone call to Colorado Christian Services we felt at home. The staff is warm, caring and sincere. There were doubts, fears and many questions along the way and we felt so fortunate to have their guidance and wisdom throughout the adoption process.

Our little girl is now a toddler and we are blessed every day to be her mommy and daddy!

God has led us throughout our journey to become parents and we have no doubt that he led us to CCS as well. The entire staff was such a blessing to our family and we are forever grateful for and appreciative of them.

Brandon & Tricia - adoptive parents

With the help of Colorado Christian Services, we became the adoptive parents of 2 beautiful and healthy babies. Our son and daughter are now 2 and 4 years old, and we cannot imagine our lives without them. Our adoption journey began after experiencing years of infertility. We researched several agencies, and during our first visit to CCS, we immediately knew that this was the right place for us. We liked that it is Christian, well established, and incredibly personal. The staff cares about every client, and they know everyone by name. Each of our adoption stories is different and special in its own way. We feel incredibly blessed that God grew our family through adoption, and we're thankful that CCS was with us every step of the way.

Nick and Nicole- adoptive parents

Six years ago my husband and I were told we would most likely not be able to conceive naturally. We knew without a second thought we wouldn't spend any more time pursuing fertility treatments; we wanted to adopt. Our research led us to Colorado Christian Services and it was here that we found warm, caring people with a knowledge of the adoption process and legal jargon that instantly made us feel assured and comfortable. To say that CCS goes the extra mile is an understatement. They not only guided us through each step but they cared about us as people. Our case worker even brought us coats when we came to Colorado unprepared for the snow and frigid temperatures!

The processes CCS has in place to create perfect matches between adoptive families and birth parents is amazing. We felt instantly connected to our birthmom after meeting for just five minutes. We have so much love, appreciation and connection with her and treasure our open relationship. Not a day goes by that we don't thank God for our two beautiful girls brought to us through adoption and for CCS who guided us through the process.

Patrick and Amanda- adoptive parents

CCS helped us adopt our daughter Andie who is now 3 years old. In addition, we have a biological daughter, but due to medical complications were no longer able to conceive on our own. After meeting with CCS we knew we found the agency that shared our beliefs and had an unwavering desire and faith that we would be able to expand our family thru adoption. We consider CCS part of our family and are forever grateful for their dedication, support, encouragement, guidance and friendship in helping us adopt our beautiful daughter.

Their team is very dedicated in ensuring all parties are fully aware of all the process and do an outstanding job at counseling both birth parents and adoptive families. They made us feel comfortable from the moment we met and provided a level of support and love we never imagined could be received. CCS and Andie's birth parents helped complete our family and for that there is no words that can truly express our gratitude for the blessing we received.
