Hello 14er Enthusiasts!

This summer I'm trying to raise $50,000 for the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative (CFI) and need your help. In 2014 and 2015, my summer campaigns raised approx. $50k each year and I hope we can get there once again. If you haven't already made a donation to the CFI this year, please consider making one through my campaign so we can reach my goal by mid-August. Thank you!

Each year the CFI builds and maintains sustainable trails to accommodate hiking use while minimizing damage to native alpine ecosystems. They also provide on-trail peak stewards to educate hikers about Leave No Trace principles and sustainable recreational practices designed to lessen ecosystem impacts.

During the 2015 summer hiking season, CFI crews worked on 60 projects, on 23 different 14er routes. On the heavily-used Mt. Bierstadt, a second season of reconstruction included teams installing hundreds of steps high on the mountain. A big thanks to Nick Gianoutsos for organizing the 2015 14ers.com CFI weekend when a large group of 14ers.com members helped the CFI trail crew haul logs up the mountain and install steps. For 2016, Nick has done it again and we'll have a 14ers.com/CFI field day the weekend of July 16th, on Quandary Peak.

This summer CFI will head back to Chicago Basin to complete the Mt. Eolus trail project, kick off a project to reconstruct the standard trail on Mt. Columbia, perform some much-needed improvements on Quandary Peak and much more...
